Me & Jesus: The Journey Home. An autobiographical sketch by Marcus Borg. Originally published in The Fourth R, Volume 6,4; July/August 1993. Marcus Borg's sketch of Jesus is drawn with five broad strokes, each of which identifies a central characteristic of Jesus which corresponds to a type of religious figure known in many cultures: the ecstatic, the healer, the wisdom teacher, the prophet, and the movement initiator. The most foundational of these, he says, are Jesus' ecstatic religious experiences.
