Muslim Jesus Traditions

Tarif Khalidi [The Muslim Jesus] provides the following traditions relevant to this cluster.

/93/ Christ said, "The most hateful of scholars to God is one who is fond of backbiting, who likes to occupy a seat of honor in an assembly, to be invited to feasts, and to have sacks of food emptied for him. Truly, I say to you, such men have obtained their wasges in this world, and God shall multiply their punishment on the Day of Judgment. [late 9th century]

Woe to those entrenched authorities

who enjoy public importance but

Behind the scenes deplete the pockets

of the helpless and isolated.

They will get what's coming to them.
